My mind is open, and my heart's on fire! This may sound a bit lyrical but with my passion for music, what better way to describe my approach to features. I love to explore my passions and discover and learn more about them, but I'm also open to challenges, and providing fresh opinion and thoughts on new subjects. Most of all I want to take the reader along with me right to the end of the page.
I'm a long time music fan, occasional lyric writer, and published music writer for local, regional, specialist press, and websites. This included working as the lead writer, competition organiser, and interviewer for music.co.uk, writing reviews and some pop features for the Essex Chronicle, and writing entertainment features for glossy lifestyle titles in the South East.
Creativity is a bit of a common theme as I'm also a crafter, and love to find out more about the industry and help others with new ideas and business advice. IdeasTap and Crafty magazine were home for two art/craft business pieces. I'm also been on two design teams, posting product reviews, trying out new items, and showcasing creative ideas on my blog. Mollie Makes also featured some quotes in a piece on crafting and mental health - 2 things close to my heart.
I love where I live, and showcasing the people and places that make Essex special, something I most recently did on Essex Lowdown. Travel and tourism is a passion, so I grab any opportunity to research and write about my home county, the UK, and abroad. Check out my copywriting page for info on my travel writing experience, or my full journalism/creative portfolio here.
Example journalism projects have included:

*A round-up of projects improving access to music for Lacuna Voices (new website).
